Soldiers Sleeping Kits

How do we support those men and women who are in the trenches, on the front line, holding back the might of the Russian onslaught? That sounds like a question from the First World War, and yet here we are in 2023 and the question is now, and it is for us.

Our Mission is “to do what we can, where we are, with what we have to the person that God has put in front of us, right now”.

So, our man in Ukraine, Vadym Tsykra, asked this question of an officer in the Ukrainian Army, who worships in a church in the city of Ternopil in the west of the country. Vadym shared this reply, “we can’t give them weapons or stand by them, but we can help them with things that will make it a little easier”.

So, with feedback from the front-line troops, we have created a “Soldiers Sleeping Kit” comprising,

a camp bed,

a mattress,

an insulated sleeping bag,

a powerful torch,

a power pack to recharge a phone

We have launched a pilot project to source these inside Ukraine, to kit them and deliver 10 of these to one of the officers teams on the front line.

Each kit will cost around £250.

We now await the feedback from this pilot project and stand ready to expand it if called to do so.
