Warm Up - Phase 2
Back in April we launched a pilot project to supply 30 merino wool thermal base layers to our Chaplin contact for him to forward to his troops on the front line.
The feedback was full of appreciation and surprise that they would receive garments of such quality.
So unsurprisingly we received the request to provide 100 more.
This time they asked for slightly smaller sizes, large and medium.
I find myself reflecting at times during these projects on the men and women who are defending their country and I believe ours as well. When I see their photos, I reflect on how young they are and how their bodies haven’t bulked out yet into the men they are yet to be. I reflect on how a medium and a large are the sizes our two boys wear and I am grateful they are safe here at home and challenged by the selfishness of that thought.
So, we are glad to continue to do what we can to help those who are not safe and sound, but in danger and holding it together for now.
If a warm vest form Northern Ireland gives them a moment to feel loved and not forgotten, then we are blessed to give.
