Project 21 - Home for Christmas

Two years into this phase of the war and there is a new “normality” evolving. There are fewer displaced people coming west and so the demand for temporary accommodation is much reduced. Instead, those who have been displaced are now moving into rented accommodation.

Vadym was made aware of a family who were making just such a move. They were so grateful to be able to make somewhere their home. However, Vadym observed that the apartment was cold and old. With winter coming he knew we could do more.

So, a plan was hatched to pilot a new project. One where the apartment could be invested in to make it a home for Christmas. With the significantly lower cost structure in Ukraine compared to here in the UK a modest investment of just a few hundred pounds could do a lot.

The landlord played their part and only charge half the normal rent. We then invested in the material needed to do the work, and the family did the rest.

Vadym reported back on this project with joy. The family were delighted with the transformation.

The family in question lost two businesses, an apartment, and a house, when Russia invaded. They left with their lives and a few belongings. They have since been told that the buildings are all destroyed.

Vadym commented that the father is now a Pastor in and there is real joy in the family, joy to be able to serve the Lord. They have lost so much but have gained even more it would appear.

We are delighted to be able to share Gods bounty and help welcome them into their new home for Christmas.
